Join Us In The DC Share-A-Bag Initiative!
Beginning on June 7th, 2M will be participating in the Share-A-Bag pilot, led by the D.C. Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE). Share-A-Bag DC will give residents and visitors to NoMa access to free, reusable bags. Bags can be left for others to use at the exchange kiosks as well. Bags are simply returned to the kiosks once participants are finished using them. The kiosks will be in various locations throughout the neighborhood, 2M being one of them.
While the $0.5 bag fee has decreased the use of single-use plastic bags, they are still clogging our waste streams and trash traps. The DOEE has decided to launch the Share-A-Bag pilot to see if easy access to reusable bags will motivate consumers to utilize them more frequently.
