National Harbor Restaurant Week

We all know and love the Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week that rolls around twice a year.  Step just outside of the city to the National Harbor to experience their version and enjoy discounted prix-fix meals with a dozen restaurants to choose from.  Lunches are being offered for between $8-20 and dinners range from $16-35 depending on the type of service the restaurant provides.  National Harbor Restaurant Week is running through March 8th.

Travel and Adventure Show

If you’re only taste of paradise lately is that palm-tree laden screen saver on your computer, this event is for you.  Head down to the Convention Center this Saturday or Sunday to gather some info on hundreds of the best travel destinations throughout the world.  Exclusive travel packages, giveaways, performances and more await attendees.  The Travel and Adventure Show takes place March 7th-8th and admission is $11 online, $16 at the door and children under 16 are free.

Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon

Feed your inner nerd this Sunday by participating in the 3rd annual Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon.  In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the theme this year is focused on improving the current entries related to notable female artists and world figures as well as encouraging women to participate in the editing process.  All are welcome and encouraged to participate, but you must register in advance and bring your own laptop with a power cord and a valid photo ID.  The Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon is this Sunday at the Great Hall of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and admission is free.

Second Inaugural Address Commemoration Ceremony

This one might be a mouthful but it’s well worth checking out!  Gather at the Lincoln Memorial with your fellow Washingtonians this Saturday to commemorate Abraham Lincoln’s second inauguration in a ceremony that will include Civil War music, a recreation of his original address and an explanation of the meaning behind it.  Admission is free; learn more about the event here.
