2M Pool Re-Opening

We are happy to welcome 2M residents back to the rooftop pool.

The 2M rooftop pool is back just in time for the Summer season! To ensure residents are enjoying the pool re-open in the safest way possible, we have some important guidelines in place.

Please review the following guidelines carefully:

IMPORTANT POOL GUIDELINES:

  • The 2M rooftop pool will be open Monday-Sunday from 10 AM – 7 PM
  • The rooftop remains open until 9 pm, but ask that you start to exit the pool area before 7 pm to allow proper cleaning.
  • Do not use the pool if you are sick, have tested positive for COVID-19, or were exposed to someone who tested positive.
  • Remember to wash your hands and person before entering the pool area.
  • We are required to allow no more than 30 residents around the pool at the same time and only 9 residents to be in the pool at once.
  • The max amount of time for each person will be 2 hours per day.

DC will be performing inspections from time to time and so, please help us in allowing the pool to remain open for the summer by following these restrictions:

While at the pool, on the rooftop and in the restrooms, you must practice social distancing of 6 feet or more and must wear a face mask at all times except for when you are in the pool itself. You will notice we had to arrange the chairs so there is separation on the pool deck.

Please wipe down the lounge chair, if you choose to use one, after you finish and please do not share food, toys, grills, drinks, goggles, towels, etc. or engage in physical contact with those outside of your household while at the pool or on the roof.

HOW TO RESERVE THE ROOFTOP POOL:

Should you choose to use the pool, please email or call the front desk to submit the name of each person looking to use the pool and the 1-hour or 2-hour time slot you are requesting to assist us in crowd management.  Per our contractor’s guidelines, each resident will be asked to sign in with their full name, apartment number and phone number and must review and sign the attached waiver and acknowledgement form before using the pool.

5 New Year Resolutions You Can Accomplish at 2M

2M is the perfect place to obtain all of your new year aspirations.

The New Year is here, which means it is time for a fresh set of goals, otherwise known as, “New Year Resolutions”. The challenge with the new year is finding the time and motivation to move down that checklist.

To help you out with the time and convenience piece, we have curated a list of 5 New Year Resolutions you can accomplish right from the comfort of your own apartment community.

1) FITNESS

The number one New Year Resolution on everyone’s list is fitness. What separates 2M residents from the rest of the pack is that you have access to a free, fully equipped, fitness center right below your feet! Any fitness goal you’re hoping to reach this year is attainable with an endless list of fitness equipment including, two Peloton bikes, yoga mats, multiple thread mills, dumbbells, squat machines, and more!

Take your fitness goals seriously this New Year inside of our 2M fitness center.

And when you’re not working out, you can work on your jump-shot on our basketball court located right beneath the fitness center.

2) BE MORE SOCIAL

The year tends to move very quickly. If you’re working for a living like everyone else, it’s easy to lose track of your social life. Don’t let that become you in 2020; at 2M, we have multiple areas in the building that are perfect for hosting an event or two. These include our Skyline rooftop lounge area, resident clubroom, television room, and a few outdoor spaces. It’s as easy as going to the front desk to reserve your date and time.

So, throw that viewing party, Super Bowl Party, Paint and Sip, or whatever else you have in mind to take your social life up a notch in the new year.

3) ENJOY THE OUTDOORS

If one of your New Year Resolutions is to get out more, we have the perfect amenity spaces for that too! If you’re not enjoying the ideal weekend over-looking the beauty of DC on our rooftop this Spring and Summer, then you’re doing something wrong!

If you’re looking for more of a quiet outdoor space, our courtyard area is a prime location for an excellent book while enjoying your favorite drink. Remember that enjoying the outdoors doesn’t have to mean hiking or running, sometimes it’s merely getting outside of your four walls.

4) YOGA

The most consistent theme with a new year is trying new things. Things you would have never thought of trying before. At 2M, we host an experience that a lot of people are curious about, but have never experienced. This experience is yoga. If you are looking to expand your boundaries this year and focus on self-growth, we challenge you to try one of our weekly yoga classes offered on the 2M basketball court.

Be the person who is open to new things and actually takes the step to make new things a reality, instead of the one who always wondered.

5) SWIM MORE

Even though we are in January, the warm season is not as far you think. Sooner than later, the 2M pool will be open, and the months from there will blink by until it’s closed again. Remember last year when you said you want to get into the water more next year? That year is this one.

Find some time to enjoy a sweet dip from the comfort of your apartment community on our rooftop pool this year.

Pool FAQ

2M Pool FAQ | What you need to know about our rooftop pool

The official kick-off to the Summer season at 2M is right around the corner with a resident appreciation pool party this Saturday May 2nd!  As we head into our first full Summer season, we wanted to answer a few questions that may come up; here’s a brief pool FAQ:

Is the pool heated?

Yes, it is heated! This will allow us open the pool in early May and keep it open through September. During the warm summer months, however, we won’t be using the heater.

How deep is the pool?

The pool is four feet deep.

How late is the pool open?

The pool is open until midnight each night. While we hope you enjoy the expanded pool hours, please be mindful of your neighbors and keep noise to a minimum in the evening hours.

Am I allowed to reserve the pool?

Unfortunately, residents cannot reserve the pool for private functions. While we may, as a community, occasionally host poolside events for non-residents, the pool is designed as an amenity for use by the entire community. By allowing it to be reserved on an individual basis, too many residents would be deprived of its use.

What can I reserve on the rooftop?

The Skyline Café can be reserved for private events! Please use BuildingLink to submit your reservation request. Fees do apply to renting the Skyline Café and those details can also be found on Buildinglink.

Can I bring food and drink to the pool?

Feel free to bring food and drink to the pool, but please no glass containers. We don’t want anyone to get hurt around the pool. Also, please remember to dispose of all trash before you leave for the day.

How can I keep my beverages chilled? Is there an ice machine?

Yes, there is an ice machine located in the elevator lobby just outside of the Skyline Café.

How many guests am I allowed to bring to the pool?

Each apartment is permitted two guest at the pool. Please remember that both you and your guests should be wearing your wristbands at all times.

Any other questions we can answer for you?  We’d be happy to help if you want to comment below or email us at 2m@wcsmith.com.  Thanks and enjoy!

Let’s Get Physical

A quick word from your favorite Property Manager Doug:

Dear Residents,

Currently we have 8 teams that have signed up for the building 2V2 basketball league and I wanted to follow up to see if anyone else would like to be added to the list. In order to qualify to play in this outstanding league you must be able to tomahawk dunk and rain 3 pointers like Larry Bird. If you do not have someone to play with we will team you up with another individual that is looking for a team. I will close the list on Friday and send out team assignments and game times next week. I am anticipating league play to start on Thursday February 12th. so get your Reebok pumps and headbands ready. If you have suggestions on the length of games and the format for league play please send me your ideas.

Boot camp will take place tomorrow night at 6:30PM in the basketball gym. No sign up is necessary so bring your drive and determination and we will provide the sweat and tears.
