What made you want to come work at 2M?
I always wanted to work for a company with a great reputation; this is why I chose WC Smith. I am very excited to work in one of the most beautiful buildings in NoMa with a close knit team and the cutest puppy social media has ever seen.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
When I am not working I still like to stay busy and entertained.  I enjoy attending concerts, festivals, new restaurants and of course shopping. I also love outdoor activities.

Where do you see NoMa in 5 years?
NoMa is an emerging neighborhood with a bright future. It is currently in the process of developing into one of DC’s most vibrant neighborhoods with great infrastructure, restaurants and shops.

If you only had 1 day in DC, what would be your top 3 musts?
1. Get a pedicab and see the sites of DC
2. Go to as many museums as I can, because Washington, DC is the only city where you can visit the majority of the (Smithsonian) museums for FREE
3. I would definitely see the White House and take tons of pictures

What is your favorite green feature at 2M?
My favorite green amenity at 2M is the electric car charging station.

What is your favorite 2M amenity?
One of my favorite amenities is the rooftop pool where residents can enjoy the most amazing and breathtaking views.

Describe your perfect day at 2M:
My perfect day at 2M starts with a cup of coffee from the Resident Café.  I would then take Emmy for a walk to our beautiful private dog park. Afterwards, I would invite my friends over to BBQ in our beautiful grilling area, but after having all that fun I would need a vigorous workout in our state-of-the-art gym. My day would conclude with watching a romantic comedy with my boyfriend in the Theatre Room.

Why would your pet love to live here?
My pet would love to live at 2M because he can have so much fun interacting with other dogs at the dog park.

Meet the 2M Street Team: Kaitlyn Luper

 

Kaitlyn, what was the path that led you here, either personally or professionally?
I worked with another management company for 3 years and was looking for more involvement and growth. I love working with people and helping them choose the perfect home. It is a chance to make a huge impact in people’s lives.

What made you want to come work for WC Smith and 2M Street?
WC Smith has a great reputation in the city for making a difference in people’s lives. Their outreach is amazing and I jumped at a chance to be part of such a great company. This will be my first experience with a brand new building, starting from the ground up. I wanted a chance to do something a little different then what I was used to within the industry, so 2M seemed like the perfect opportunity to branch out.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I enjoy reading, shopping, and playing with my dog.

Where do you see NoMa in 5 years?
I think the growth in NoMa will be amazing. It will be the place people want to live when moving in the city!

What do you think draws residents to 2M Street and NoMa now?
NoMa is an up and coming neighborhood. Residents will get to experience and see the growth of the area, as well as be a part of it first-hand.  2M Street will have every amenity our residents need and want, whether it is here in the building or within walking distance of the property.

If you only had 1 day in DC, what would be your top 3 musts?
Visiting the monuments, Arlington National Cemetery, and the National Archives.

What is your favorite green feature at 2M?
The rainwater harvesting system is impressive and unique.

What is your favorite 2M amenity?
The Dog Park!

Describe your perfect day at 2M.
It would start with a workout in the Fitness Center, and then I would take my dog for his workout at the Dog Park.  Afterwards, I would take in a movie in the Theater Room, then head out to eat at one of the great NoMa restaurants.  Later in the evening, I would invite some friends to socialize in the Rooftop Skyline Cafe.

Why would your pet love to live here?
My dog would feel like a true resident here! The dog park would be his fitness center, Emmy (the resident puppy) would be his first friend and contact in the office, and he would have an endless amount of other pets to play with.

Which 3 words best describe 2M?
Modern, convenient, and affordable.

Meet Jack Le, Building Engineer at 2M Street Apartments

Jack, what was the path that led you here to 2M?
WC Smith offered a great opportunity to work in a beautiful building while giving back to the community.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I like to stay home and spend time with my 2 wonderful boys.

If you only had 1 day in DC, what would be on your must-do list?
I would eat at one of the great ethnic restaurants that DC has to offer, then visit the National Air and Space Museum and the White House.

If you could choose a floor to live on at 2M? 
Top floor because the views are amazing.

Describe your perfect day at 2M. 
Enjoying the rooftop on a beautiful 4th of July.

If 2M were a super hero what would it be?
Spiderman, because he is strong, caring and helpful.

What is your favorite green feature at 2M?
The Energy Saver Solar System.

What is your favorite 2M amenity?
The club room because my kids and I can play games together.

Why would your pet love to live here?
The dog park is a great feature for my dog Ron to enjoy.

Meet Doug Crawford Building Manager for 2M Street Apartments

Tell us a little about how you ended up at 2M:

I worked for a large National Real Estate Investment Trust for the last 8 years and I felt it was time to make a change to a company that had a strong footprint and roots here in the DC area. WC Smith was the perfect choice.  2M is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of the revitalization of a beautiful and vibrant area incorporating different sectors of the community to enhance the project.

Where can we find you when you’re off-duty?

I am a rabid and fanatical LSU Tiger fan. Whether its baseball, football or basketball I will be watching and cheering on my team.

Where do you see NoMa in 5 years?

NoMa is really transforming into a beautiful and interesting area where I think you will see a large presence of arts and interesting entrepreneurial projects that will make it unique area in the DMV.

If you only had one day in DC, what would be your top-3 must-do items?

1) Arlington Cemetery and the changing of the guard

2) A show at the Kennedy Center

3) A Night tour of the National Mall.

What do you think draws residents to 2M/NoMa now?

2M is a building that was developed with all the latest amenities but it was also designed to enhance the community. 2M has been extremely sensitive to ensuring that we incorporate the history of NOMA and that we reach out to the community to keep them in the loop as an important and integral part of the development.

Why would your pet love to live here?

My pet would love to live at 2M because he/she is going to have an abudance of buddies to play with including our building dog, Emmy, who is always available for play dates.

Describe your perfect day at 2M

My perfect day would start out with an early morning run on the treadmills in our beautiful gym followed by a work out. Once that is complete I would head back upstairs to cook some steak and eggs in my spacious gourment kitchen. I then head down to the common area room to do a little light reading and then its onto the pool for some afternoon sun tanning. In the evening I crack open a beer on the roof top and have my friends over for a cookout.
