Reasons We Love Living in NoMa

NoMa is the best neighborhood in DC

Washington DC has some of the most exciting neighborhoods in the nation! No matter what type of lifestyle you desire to have, there is a DC community out there that can serve your needs perfectly! While there are many neighborhood options to choose from in DC, not too many compare to the type of feeling you get when you live in NoMa, DC. It’s bigger than the abundance of local businesses that are easily accessible to residents or the type of entertainment options in the neighborhood.

When you live in NoMa, DC, you immediately become infused with a hometown feel! NoMa gives everything from walkability, central location, food options, etc. There aren’t too many DC neighborhoods that give you the big city location with the small-town feel; NoMa is one of them!

Below some reasons why you will love living in NoMa DC

Accessibility/Walkability: NoMa offers premiere walkability to a lot of DC transportation conveniences. As a NoMa resident, you’re within blocks of the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro Station, giving you access to all of the surrounding DC neighborhoods while also opening up pockets of Maryland and Virginia. You are one mile away from Union Station minutes away from I-395. Having this accessibility opens up the Maryland and Virginia areas and traveling options to nearby states such as New York, Pennsylvania, and more!

Locally, you’re within walking distance from one of the biggest NoMa staples like Wundergarten, one of DC’s most popular beer gardens, and Union Market, the premier local business haven in NoMa. These locations are known for their festive events, delicious drinks, and incredible vibes all year round.

Beyond that, living in NoMa also gives you excellent household convenience store options, including a Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, CVS, Streets Market, and many more!

NoMa Bid Events: While NoMa gives you unlimited freedom to enjoy many fun events on your own, you never have to overthink what your next activity will be. NoMa Bid plans year-round events for DC residents. These types of events cover a wide selection of interest, including:

  • Big-screen movie series
  • Pumpkinpalooza
  • NoMa in Bloom
  • Nerds in NoMa

These are just a few of the events NoMa Bid offers over the year. You can learn more about their event planning schedule by visiting, Nomabid.org.

Swapoodle Pet Park: Living in NoMa is also an ideal DC neighborhood for pet lovers too! Your number one companion will surely enjoy plenty of weekends spent running up and down the park field.

2M to Host Second Annual Men Against Breast Cancer Pink & Blue Rooftop Soiree

Hey everyone! We hope you’re getting as excited for the weekend ahead as we are! As you may have already heard, this Saturday August 23rd, we are joining forces with the Men Against Breast Cancer to host a rooftop party.  This is the Second Annual Exclusive Pink & Blue Rooftop Pool & End of a Great Summer Soiree and it is guaranteed to be a great time!

Men Against Breast Cancer is a non-profit organization created to fill a need that is easily overlooked. Their mission is to provide support to educate and empower the men who love and care for those affected by breast cancer.  The organization has been working hard to raise awareness (and funds) and we could not be happier to be hosting this event on our brand new rooftop.

The soiree will take place pool-side and will consist of music, karaoke, a raffle, door prizes, and fashion and awards receptions.  There will also be a number of local news anchors and personalities in attendance.  For a list of those who will be in attendance, take a look at the event on Facebook.

The party will kick off at 3:00PM, and though the guest list is just about full, our current residents can simply pick up their wrist bands at the front desk!  In the meantime, you can learn more about the Men Against Breast Cancer and President/Founder Marc Heyison on Facebook, Twitter and on their website.  We hope to see you there!
